Hot Press / Lathe Operator
Location: Peru, IL
Pay: $18.50/hour
Schedule: Train on 1st shift, then move to 2nd shift
Direct Hire / Long-Term Opportunity
Overview: Join a leading manufacturing team as a Hot Press/Lathe Operator. You’ll be responsible for setting up and maintaining equipment, ensuring product quality, and supporting efficient production operations. This role offers hands-on technical work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate hot press department equipment
Replace worn or damaged tooling and record tool life
Verify product quality per in-process procedures
Monitor factory supplies and tooling; report low levels
Perform machine maintenance with supervisor approval
Report unsafe conditions and maintain a clean workspace
Train new operators as needed
Conduct daily equipment inspections and calibrations
Sort nonconforming product when required
Work overtime when necessary
Suggest improvements for efficiency, quality, and safety
Comply with all company policies and procedures
Perform duties independently with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
Previous experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred
Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
Ability to follow safety and quality standards
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to train and learn new processes
