Inspector Apprentice (Manheim)

Position Summary Company: Cox Automotive. Location: specified Cox location. Hours: flexible work option, no remote work. Shift: day. Compensation: hourly base pay of $13.70 – $20.53/hr, variable by location and qualifications. Sign‑on bonus: $1,000 ($500 after 30 days, $500 after 90 days). Possible commission or incentive program. Job Responsibilities Verify vehicle information based on work order – identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems by inspecting all customer vehicles at time of receipt. Prepare and complete all necessary documentation. Set up system for day‑end and perform day‑end procedures. Maintain knowledge to ensure all policies and procedures are followed. Write electronic condition reports (ECR). Conduct OVE courtesy walks around inspections. Maintain knowledge of system capabilities and relevant software packages. Stay informed on improvements and changes in body mechanical, frame labor, and inspection techniques. Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures. Participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence. Perform other duties as assigned by management. May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (minimum). Generally less than 2 years of experience in a related field. Valid driver’s license and safe driver’s record. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong technical understanding with good organizational skills. Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instruction. Advanced computer skills. Physical ability: stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods; bend, stoop, squat or kneel; lift and hold at least 10 lbs at waist level; lift up to 30 lbs. Work Environment Exposure to outdoor weather and inclement conditions. Moderate noise level. Possible exposure to fumes and odors. Work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) may be required. Drug Testing Pre‑employment drug test required. No marijuana testing currently.
