Overview We are seeking compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professionals to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide hands‑on assistance and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, and hygiene. Support residents with medication administration and monitor vital signs as needed, ensuring adherence to care plans. Facilitate engaging activities that promote socialization, independence, and skill development. Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment by performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties. Use patient observation techniques to monitor health status and report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals. Assist with meal preparation and feeding, accommodating special dietary needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia care. Support residents during transfers using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods. Skills Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of client information. Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, patient monitoring, and vital signs measurement. Experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities. Proficiency in assisting with ADLs, personal care assistance, and manual handling techniques such as heavy lifting or patient transfers. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within multidisciplinary settings. Certification in first aid and CPR; additional training in dementia or Alzheimer's care is advantageous.
