Tax Capital Solutions Investment Banking Vice President Job Title: Tax Capital Solutions Investment Banking Vice President Location: Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Houston, or Remote About the role: The Tax Capital Solutions group at Marathon Capital is hiring a Vice President. The candidate will be a core member of the group and will have a wide array of analytical, financial modeling, and materials preparation responsibilities in support of the pitching and execution of tax credit related investment banking mandates. This position represents a unique opportunity to join a successful growing platform and get experience across all technologies within the energy transition sector that are incentivized by tax credits. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day aspects of solar, energy storage, carbon capture, wind, and other tax credit advisory mandate origination and execution, including building financial models, authoring offering materials, preparing pitches, conducting industry research and conducting marketing processes Support all types of Marathon Capital investment banking mandates on financial modeling and tax credit monetization structures Support internal technical training initiatives Build sector expertise in renewable and conventional power generation, power and utilities, energy technology and infrastructure Drive business development initiatives to further enhance the firm’s competitive position Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; finance or accounting degree preferred Background in renewable energy, including 4+ years of experience structuring, modeling, and/or executing tax equity financing, tax credit transfer, or project finance transactions Confident in financial modeling skills, including ability to model U.S. partnership tax concepts and advanced Microsoft Excel skills Knowledge of or interest in energy transition, including renewable power generation, energy storage, power and utilities, carbon capture, and energy infrastructure sectors Equal Employment Opportunity Employment decisions at the Company are made without unlawful regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, alienage or citizenship status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions, military or veteran status (including unfavorable discharge from military service), marital status, conviction record, sexual and reproductive health decisions, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law.
