JC Pallet is the trusted source for the best recycled pallets.The Mechanic Assistant position will assist mechanics with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment. Perform routine, preventative maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspections.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance and repairs/installations utilizing a wide range of tools including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and welding machines.Maintain upkeep of all equipment on site.Be able to change tires, light work, adjust and change brakes, wheel seal, trouble shoot air systems, replace landing gears with knowledge of welding.Valid Driver's License and safe driving record required.Examples of work involved:Maintains tools, equipment, and maintenance work areas in a clean and organized condition.Helps troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues under supervision.Supports equipment setup, testing, and adjustments as directed.Responds to maintenance requests in a timely manner.Completes maintenance logs, work orders and other required documentation.Assists with inventory management and stocking general facility maintenance tasks as assigned.Trailer floor plates & lights repairs.Ground maintenance – general housekeeping, mowing, weed eating.Perform job duties in a manner consistent with safety policies and work standards.Proactive and effective communication with team members at all levels of the organization.Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and stressful situations.Physical Demands:Frequent lifting and bending.Ability of standing and walk for extended periods of time.Working under trailersWork Environment:The work environment consists of occasional extreme temperature shifts ranging from very cold to very hot.Exposure to dust and loud noise (hearing protection is provided).Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and moving forklifts.Benefits:Competitive payComprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage.Paid company sponsored basic life insurance.401(k) retirement savings plan.Gainshare Program.Paid time off and holidays.Collaborative and supportive work environment.Work Schedule:Monday – Friday 7am untilSome Saturday work may be requiredWork Site Location: 18427 New Kent Highway, Barhamsville VA 23011Send resume to View email address on click.appcast.io Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
