Brand-new opportunity for a civil engineer who wants to remain connected to technical work while moving into broader engineering leadership!

You’ll join an established design-build organization that delivers projects across the U.S. The company is expanding its internal engineering capabilities and is looking for a Civil Engineering Manager to assist with land development projects from early site evaluation through construction.

The role will initially be a blend of project engineering and engineering management, while moving into more engineering leadership following the ramp up period. It is also part of a longer-term succession strategy within the engineering organization.

What You’ll Do:

• Join a nationwide leader that dominates their niche
• Receive pay beyond the upper quartile for a Civil Engineer
• Help to build and shape the civil engineering service offering
• Lead civil/site engineering and land development efforts for projects across nationwide
• Evolve into a higher level leadership role

A significant portion of the company’s civil engineering work is currently performed by outside consultants. Rather than stepping into a mature department with established boundaries, you’ll have the opportunity to help determine how this capability develops internally, while still leveraging outside consultants as much as needed.

You’ll influence how projects are executed, what standards and processes are established, how resources are added, and how civil engineering works alongside structural engineering, design, and construction.

The position is expected to begin at roughly an even mix of technical civil work and management. As the team and internal capabilities grow, the role can evolve toward greater leadership while still allowing you to remain involved in technical oversight.

What We’re Looking For:

This is an incredibly rare opportunity for a civil engineer with experience in site development or land development who is ready to broaden their leadership responsibilities.

Relevant experience may include:

• Professional Engineer (PE)
• 10+ years of civil/site engineering and land development
• Site planning, grading, drainage, and development design
• Permitting and coordination with regulatory agencies
• Surveying and geotechnical coordination
• Civil 3D
