Be the first to apply for this position. The job involves properly loading and unloading freight using various equipment, including a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand. It requires strapping, bracing, and padding freight to prevent damage or shifting. Accurately recording the condition of freight upon arrival at the service center is also part of the role. Pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment are necessary, and regular attendance is required.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, being 17 years or older, experience in the transportation industry, stable employment history, and prior operation of a forklift or certification. The ability to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 lbs. is required. Physical activities include standing, walking, lifting, twisting, turning, etc. The employee must be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends, and be dependable. The ability to lift approximately 70 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job, is necessary. Compliance with all company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct is required, as well as the ability to interact well with others and work independently or in a team setting. The ability to work under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities is also necessary. The ability to read, interpret, and comply with written information and documents with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines is required. Passing a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and a criminal history background check is mandatory. Authorization to work in the United States is required.
