Job Description

Deli Associate / Sandwich Host

Sandy’s Fine Food Emporium | Westerly, RI
Part-Time | Weekends Required

Sandy’s Fine Food Emporium is looking for a friendly, dependable Sandwich Host to join our team.

This is a fast-paced, highly customer-facing position at the heart of Sandy’s deli. Our Sandwich Hosts interact directly with Guests throughout their shift—taking orders, preparing made-to-order sandwiches, answering questions, making recommendations, and helping create the warm neighborhood experience Sandy’s is known for.

We call our employees Hosts because we expect more than simply completing a transaction. We want people who genuinely enjoy serving others, can keep up when the deli gets busy, and take pride in great food and great service.

What You’ll Do

● Greet Guests and take sandwich and deli orders

● Prepare made-to-order sandwiches, wraps, and deli items accurately and efficiently

● Slice meats and cheeses and safely operate deli equipment

● Talk with Guests, answer questions, and make recommendations

● Keep orders moving during busy lunch and weekend periods

● Maintain a clean, organized, well-stocked work area

● Follow food-safety, sanitation, and allergen procedures

● Assist with deli and prepared-food production as needed

● Work closely with fellow Hosts to provide fast, attentive service

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

● Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable working directly with customers

● Able to work quickly and stay composed in a fast-paced environment

● Dependable and punctual

● A strong communicator and team player

● Attentive to details and able to follow orders accurately

● Clean, organized, and professional

● Willing to learn and take direction

● Available to work weekends

Previous deli, restaurant, food-service, or customer-service experience is helpful, but we’re willing to train the right person.
