The Over The Road Driver is responsible for long-haul transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. This role requires exceptional driving skills and the ability to manage logistics effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct long-haul deliveries
• Ensure that all cargo is secured properly for transit
• Communicate with dispatchers regarding route changes or delays

Perform vehicle inspections

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
• Report mechanical issues and schedule necessary repairs
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck

Manage logs and documentation

• Maintain accurate records of driving hours and cargo loads
• Complete shipping and delivery paperwork accurately and promptly
• Adhere to federal regulations regarding hours of service

Ensure safety compliance

• Follow all traffic laws and company safety protocols
• Participate in ongoing safety training and assessments
• Report accidents, incidents, or safety hazards immediately

Assist with loading and unloading

• Collaborate with team members to load and unload cargo safely
• Operate necessary equipment for loading and unloading as needed
• Monitor and report any issues during loading or unloading processes

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL and clean driving record
• Minimum of 1 year of OTR driving experience
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations
• Ability to operate various types of trailers and equipment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Demands:

• Stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Navigate uneven terrain at job sites
• Use hands to handle tools, materials, and equipment
• Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as required
• Climb ladders and stairs
• Work at elevated heights when necessary
• Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Maintain visual awareness sufficient to safely operate tools and equipment
