The Southeast Health District is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the full-time, salaried position of Billing Clerk based in Waycross, GA.

Under limited supervision, the Billing Clerk provides billing and claims support for County Health Departments, Wellness Centers, and programs. Responsibilities include submitting and monitoring claims, posting payments and denials, preparing monthly billing and error reports, monitoring claim transmissions, identifying payment issues, and resolving denied claims. The position also provides system support to assigned counties and works closely with the Billing Team to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.

High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related accounting or fiscal experience; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Accounting Technician Trainee (FIT019) or equivalent position. Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree in a business curriculum or related field from an accredited college or university. Proficient in MS Word and Excel. Excellent customer service skills. Experience in billing, budget, or accounting activities. Public Health Experience.

Southeast Health District accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. SEHD will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
