Part-Time Tax Manager – Thoughtful Transition, Flexible Schedule, Meaningful Work Hemphill is partnering with a highly respected local CPA firm on the search for a Part-Time Tax Manager to take the baton from a long-time, well-loved employee who will be retiring later this year. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys the complexity and strategy of public accounting, but wants to work a reduced schedule in an environment where quality of life is truly valued. Many employees work part-time or reduced hours, and this role is no exception. As a Tax Manager you will have the unique opportunity to create a schedule that aligns with what’s ideal from your perspective. The current Tax Manager works roughly 24 hours per week outside of busy season and about 45hrs during peak times; however, they would absolutely accommodate an individual who preferred to work a consistent 40hrs each week, if you preferred to work a steady schedule instead. The firm also brings in experienced seasonal help during tax season, keeping the pressure and long hours at bay. In this role, you’ll spend your time evenly split between tax prep and review during busy season. Outside of that, you’ll build meaningful relationships with a variety of clients, help guide their businesses, and serve as a trusted advisor on tax strategy and planning. You’ll work elbow-to-elbow with the current Tax Manager during the transition period, allowing you to get comfortable in the role before fully taking the reins. This position is perfect for a tax professional who wants to stay challenged and continue making an impact - without sacrificing family, health, or personal time.
