Currently, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our Clifton Park team as: Banker I About this position As a Banker I in our Clifton Park office, you will be responsible for core customer service interactions including processing customer transactions accurately and in a timely manner, responding positively to inquiries, safeguarding customer information, and detecting and preventing fraud. This client‑facing role is key to creating an outstanding customer experience by developing quality relationships through caring conversations, identifying customer needs, and recommending products and services as appropriate. Essential Job Functions Process transactions accurately and efficiently; follow proper cash handling procedures; balance cash drawer and adhere to established cash limits, buy and sell currency from the vault Field incoming customer service calls referencing knowledge of company operations, products, services, and programs Answer account and banking related questions such as interest rates, service charges, and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations, and consumer privacy policies Prevent and detect fraud by identifying counterfeit currency and monetary instruments, including cashier’s checks, money orders, and domestic/international wire transfers, following customer identity verification, and adhering to check cashing and dual‑control procedures Perform daily reconciliation and maintenance for the ATM and process night depository bags under dual control as assigned Protect customer and company resources by following security requirements such as executing branch opening and closing protocols and ensuring branch safety Identify opportunities to provide additional products or services to generate client referrals; refer customers to partners when additional expertise is required Promote and demonstrate self‑service banking options, including mobile applications, online banking, and ATM functionalities, to enhance customer convenience Maintain an organized work area and perform administrative tasks such as filing, scanning checks, and organizing transaction receipts Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of and adhere to applicable federal regulations and company policies and procedures What you will need to thrive in this role In addition to your work and life experiences, as well as your passion and excitement for the profession, you would benefit from having: Education/Certifications High School Diploma or GED required 2 years of experience in customer service, cash handling, or retail sales preferred Skills/Knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate confidentially, clearly, professionally, and confidently with customers, internal partners, management, and other stakeholders; bilingual is a plus Demonstrated commitment to delivering high‑quality customer service with a courteous, patient, and professional demeanor Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills with the ability to follow procedures Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining aware of surroundings and priorities Sound judgment, discretion, and a high level of integrity when handling confidential information Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and ability to effectively learn and utilize department‑specific systems and software Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods of time Ability to repetitively use a telephone, computer mouse, and keyboard for extended durations Ability to move, lift, carry cash bags, coin boxes, and branch equipment up to 30 pounds Travel to various branches as needed; travel can be completed by car, public transportation, or other reasonable means. Ability to travel is required to maintain client relationships and support business objectives.
