Duty Manager – Bromley Old Town Hall Job type: 12 months Fixed Term Contract Location: Bromley Old Town Hall, Bromley Overview Bromley Old Town Hall is home to Clockwise Offices – a range of private offices designed to bring this heritage building back to life as a home for work for entrepreneurs and small/medium businesses. The on‑site amenities include a 23‑bedroom hotel, venue spaces and bookable meeting rooms that benefit members, local businesses and the wider Bromley community. The building operates as a hotel, work space and venue – Monday to Friday it is an office and coworking space, and over the weekend it becomes a wedding and event venue creating memorable, unique events. The Duty Manager will oversee all operational aspects of the building, hotel office, work spaces, meeting rooms and venue, ensuring a warm welcome and seamless guest experience for every visitor. Key Responsibilities Day‑to‑day duties include: Planning office moves, managing meeting room requests and coordinating with on‑site teams to ensure adequate coverage. Supporting hotel operations through reservation enquiries, guest requests, order and invoice administration, and booking systems. Supervising colleagues, planning rotas, cross‑training staff, and onboarding new team members and members. Maintaining a safe and efficient environment, delivering exceptional experiences to members, guests and colleagues. Trading & Business Performance Front‑of‑house customer‑facing role: welcome visitors, handle VIP arrivals, and resolve guest or member feedback in person, via email or other channels. Create reporting & manage commercial data to provide overview/forecast information. Manage payments processing, invoicing and AP/AR tasks. Provide hands‑on reception and coverage during peak times, staff shortages or operational needs, with flexibility for varying shifts including weekends, mornings and evenings. Prepare reports including arrivals, departures, occupancy and sales. Support the GM with member move‑in/move‑out processes and related administration. Update systems to reflect sales, billing and invoicing processes. People, Community & Culture Deliver the company Consumer Journey for all visitors and members through exceptional welcome and issue resolution. Capture, resolve and report all member and guest issues ensuring the GM/operations team is aware and can take corrective action. Provide training support to new and existing colleagues, promoting cross‑training for efficiency. Prepare rotas and staffing plans. Safety, Compliance & Operations Administer daily check‑lists for health and safety, brand standards, and conduct daily and weekly walk‑arounds. Create and apply risk assessments and health & safety protocols in line with business needs. Maintain professional interactions with building suppliers/third parties and report any issues to the location GM. Support management in upholding health & safety standards, supervise first aid boxes, and audit building opening/closing routines. Liaise with suppliers and partners for event provision and out‑of‑hours access. Attend and host team meetings, providing communication and updates on projects. Support projects such as building works, office renovations, office moves and other ad‑hoc projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. Key Skills And Experience Hospitality Background: Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a hotel, premium co‑working space, or high‑end hospitality environment. Training Ability: Strong coaching and communication skills with the ability to simplify technical processes for team training. Flexibility: Hands‑on attitude with willingness to work varying shifts (including weekends, mornings and evenings). Adaptability: Comfort working across multiple business models (hospitality, corporate workplace, events). Literacy with CRM, booking/reservation systems: Preferred; tech‑forward approach required, working with multiple systems.
