Registered Nurse Intellectual Disabilities and Autism Unit Posted on June 10, 2026 Locations Hospital - Towson Towson, MD 21204, USA Nursing Full-Time Requisition #: REGIS010768 Description The Intellectual Disabilities and Autism Unit is a specialized inpatient unit for the psychiatric evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of adults with co-occurring developmental and psychiatric disorders. This is a 6-bed unit that offers a behavioral approach to care for these dually diagnosed adults. Responsibilities Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans. Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician. Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families. Provide day‑to‑day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff. Document and report patient progress to treatment team. Requirements Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and continuously while in position. Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred but not necessary. A passion for working with adults on the Autism Spectrum. All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment.
