Extended Job Title Asst/Assoc/Professor - Inpatient/Hospitalist - Psychiatry Position Description The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Amarillo Department of Psychiatry is an innovative community-based teaching program. The department treats patients from children to geriatric with a range of psychiatric conditions and partners with community facilities to provide services. Faculty gain exposure to multiple psychiatric diagnoses, innovative rural patient technologies, and a high degree of patient interaction. Major / Essential Functions Coverage of inpatient service with 7 on/7 off schedule. Conduct psychiatric examinations, diagnose, and treat mental conditions. Prescribe treatment courses. Participate in the development of interdisciplinary treatment plans. Train and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows. Required Qualifications MD, DO, or MBBS degree. Completion of, or in process of completing, a Psychiatry Residency. Board eligible, in process of training to be board eligible, or Board Certified in Psychiatry. Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3. Compensation Pay grade maximum: Salary commensurate with related education, experience, and/or skills. Pay grade minimum: Salary commensurate with related education, experience, and/or skills. Pay basis: Monthly. Salary commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
