Dietary Supplement Director of Quality and R&D

Yoh is hiring a Dietary Supplement Director of Quality and R&D for our Food and Beverage client in Salt Lake City, Utah.


Job Summary:

The Director of R&D and Quality is responsible for leading and overseeing all research and development activities related to manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on quality control and assurance. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to enhance product quality, minimize defects, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.



Job Responsibilities: 

• Lead and manage the R&D and Quality teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
•  Foster a collaborative, innovative, and quality-focused work environment.
•  Develop and implement strategic plans for R&D activities aimed at quality improvement.
•  Set clear goals and expectations, monitor team performance, and provide regular feedback.
•  Establish and maintain robust quality control processes and standards.
•  Implement comprehensive quality assurance programs to ensure products meet regulatory and customer requirements.
•  Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and address areas for improvement.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes to resolve quality issues.
•  Oversee the development and optimization of manufacturing processes and technologies.
•  Conduct research to identify opportunities for process improvement and quality enhancement.
• Utilize data analysis and statistical methods to monitor and improve process performance.
• Ensure all R&D and manufacturing activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
•  Work closely with other departments, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to align R&D and quality activities with overall business goals.
•  Communicate research findings, project updates, and quality metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and manage the R&D and Quality budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
•  Oversee procurement and maintenance of R&D and Quality equipment and materials.

Experience/Education Requirements:

• At least 15 years of experience in R&D and Quality within the manufacturing industry.
•  Proven track record in quality control and assurance.
•  Extensive experience in a leadership or executive role.
•  Strong understanding of quality control methodologies and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
•  Proficiency in statistical analysis software and quality management systems
