Responsibilities Your main tasks: Your main goal is to develop and implement programs to meet the individual needs of inmates and detainees (including individual and group counseling). Interview newly admitted inmates/detainees. Conduct facility orientation for new inmates/detainees explaining the facility’s rules and regulations, available services and programs, and disciplinary and classification process. Provide individual counseling on an informal basis regarding work and housing assignments, adjustment difficulties, and family issues. Resolve day-to-day problems with counseling (referring inmates or detainees with serious problems to professional counseling staff). Monitor inmate/detainee custody, housing, job, and program assignments to ensure all cases are reviewed in a timely manner. Conduct visits to inmates/detainees assigned to caseload who are in special housing. Review inmate/detainee medical status to determine eligibility to work volunteer jobs. Qualifications Competencies Required: Minimum Requirements If you have a natural ability for working in a team with a wide variety of members and you’re truly driven by the joy of seeing people thrive, you are in the right place. Apply if you have: High school diploma or equivalent certification required. Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, sociology, or related field is preferred. One (1) year in caseload management of offenders in a correctional setting required or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience required.
