Grants Manager

New Native Theatre (NNT) is seeking a full-time Grants Manager to help support and expand the organization’s institutional funding efforts as we enter our 17th year as the largest independent Native theatre company in the country. NNT creates authentic and transformative plays, public programs, and cultural events through the lens of Native American experiences. Our mission is to create pathways into meaningful careers in the performing arts for Native artists while building spaces where Native stories, artists, and communities can thrive on their own terms. We are seeking a strong writer and well organized thinker who can help broaden New Native Theatre’s institutional funding opportunities at the regional and national level through strategic prospect research, compelling proposal development, and collaborative relationship-building. This position works closely with organizational leadership and staff to manage the full grant lifecycle, including research, proposal development, submissions, reporting, stewardship, and compliance. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $58,000–$68,000 DOE Hybrid and flexible work schedule Paid two-week winter office closure in addition to paid holidays and PTO QSEHRA health reimbursement benefit Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development Meaningful work in a nationally recognized Native arts organization with long-term organizational stability Key Responsibilities Research, identify, and evaluate grant opportunities aligned with NNT’s mission, programming, and strategic priorities Write, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals, reports, LOIs, and supporting materials Manage the full grant lifecycle, including application tracking, reporting deadlines, renewals, and compliance requirements Maintain centralized grants calendar, records, and reporting systems Collaborate with leadership and finance staff to support grant budget tracking, reporting, and compliance Assist in coordinating required grant documentation, outcomes reporting, and supporting materials across departments Assist in building and strengthening relationships with foundations, government agencies, and institutional funders Support broader fundraising and development efforts as needed Stay informed about trends in arts funding, philanthropy, and Native arts advocacy Qualifications 3+ years of experience in grant writing, grants management, nonprofit development, or related work Strong writing, editing, organizational, and project management skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously Experience developing persuasive proposals and reports for institutional funders Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments Experience in nonprofit arts, Native arts, theater, or community‑based cultural work strongly preferred Preferred Experience Familiarity with regional and national arts funding organizations and government agencies Experience working within Native communities and/or other BIPOC‑led organizations Experience with grant budgeting, reporting, and compliance processes Knowledge of nonprofit CRM or grants management systems About New Native Theatre New Native Theatre is a new way of looking at, thinking about, and staging Native American stories.
