Sports Construction Equipment Operator & Laborer

Job Description

Job Description

Sports Construction Equipment Operator / Laborer

$25–$35/hour | Paid Travel | $60/Day Per Diem | Nationwide Projects

Tired of Being the Person Everyone Counts On—Without Working Somewhere That Recognizes It?

You know how to run equipment. You know how to read a jobsite. When something needs done, you're usually one of the people who figures out how to make it happen.

But maybe you're tired of putting that effort into a company where every day feels exactly the same.

What if your next job gave you something more?

What if you could operate equipment, lead people, travel the country, build sports facilities you can actually point to and say, “We built that,” and still build a career and life you're proud of?

That's what we're building at Empire .

We're looking for a Sports Construction Equipment Operator / Laborer who has the experience to get things done and the mindset to help the people around them get better.

You Might Be Our Person If...

You're the person who doesn't need to be chased down to get something finished.

You can climb into a skid loader or mini excavator and know what you're doing.

You notice when something isn't right before someone has to tell you.

You can read plans, understand grades, think ahead about materials and manpower, and help keep a crew moving.

And when a younger or less experienced crew member doesn't know something, your first instinct isn't to complain about them— it's to teach them.

You're willing to work hard because you take pride in what your name is attached to.

Most importantly, you want to be surrounded by people who do the same.

There's More to Life Than Work

Our people work hard, but work isn't their entire identity.

When they're home, you'll find our team hunting, fishing, watching and playing sports, racing, spending time outdoors, and making memories with their families.

We understand why you work in the first place.

This career can give you the opportunity to travel, earn good money, develop leadership skills, see parts of the country you've never seen, and come home knowing you accomplished something that mattered.

Empire pays for your hotel while traveling and provides $60 per day in per diem on top of your wages.

Where could that take you and your family?

The Kind of Person Who Succeeds Here

At Empire, our core values aren't words we hang on a wall. They're how we decide who belongs on our team.

GRIT — You keep going when the weather sucks, the day gets long, or the plan changes.

LOYALTY — Your crew can count on you, and you expect to be able to count on them.

ENJOYING THE JOURNEY — We work hard, travel, laugh, build relationships, and take pride in the ride—not just the finished project.

INTEGRITY — You do what's right when someone is watching and when nobody is.

POSITIVE MINDSET — Problems happen on construction sites. You'd rather help solve them than spend the day complaining about them.

If those sound like you, keep reading.

What You'll Bring to the Crew

This isn't an entry-level seat. We're looking for someone who can contribute from day one and continue developing as a leader.

You'll use your experience to:

• Operate skid loaders, mini excavators, telescoping boom lifts, and other construction equipment
• Help install large-diameter poles, cable systems, netting, and other sports facility infrastructure
• Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, grade stakes, and job specifications
• Calculate concrete requirements accurately
• Review layouts and verify underground utility markings
• Coordinate materials, equipment, manpower, and deliveries
• Help keep projects on schedule
• Lead, coach, and train crew members
• Assign daily responsibilities and communicate expectations clearly
• Monitor jobsite progress and anticipate what's needed next
• Communicate with superintendents and project managers
• Maintain equipment and keep jobsites organized
• Hold the crew accountable for safety, housekeeping, and quality
• Help solve problems instead of waiting for someone else to solve them
• Conduct crew evaluations and corrective actions when necessary
• Continue developing your leadership and construction knowledge

What You Get in Return

Compensation: $25.00–$35.00 per hour

Plus:

• Company-paid hotels while traveling
• $60/day per diem while traveling

• Health insurance
• Dental insurance

Maybe You're Not Looking for Another Job.

Maybe you're looking for the place where your experience finally leads somewhere.

A place where running equipment is only part of what you're capable of.

A place where you can become a stronger leader, earn a good living, see the country, work alongside people who share your values, and still have a life worth working for when you get home.

The question is: Are you ready to find out what you could build with Empire?

Apply today. We'd like to meet the person behind the résumé.
