Senior Data Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 150,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• We are looking for 5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or backend development.
• We need strong SQL and Python skills for building and validating data solutions.
• We expect hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and its data services such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage.
• We value experience with AWS services, including S3, Glue, Athena, and Kinesis; EMR exposure is a plus.
• We require experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and version-controlled deployment practices such as Terraform and GitOps.
• We want hands-on dbt experience, including building and maintaining models, tests, macros, documentation, and CI workflows.
• We look for proficiency with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect.
• We need knowledge of data lake design, including formats like Parquet and Avro and open table standards such as Apache Iceberg.
• We expect familiarity with event-driven and service-oriented architectures.
• We value a track record of creating automated, well-tested, and observable data systems.
• We are looking for someone who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Bonus qualifications include Kubernetes experience, especially with data workloads and containerized pipelines.
• Bonus qualifications also include streaming technologies such as Kafka, Spark Streaming, or Flink, and comfort with high-volume, low-latency data flows.
• Additional advantages include experience with change data capture tools like Debezium and Kafka Connect, plus real-time integration patterns.
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker Studio or QuickSight is a plus.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus is beneficial.
• A background in fintech, trading, or derivatives is an added advantage.

• We design, build, and maintain resilient data pipelines and data lake architecture for batch and real-time streaming use cases.
• We handle high-volume, low-latency data processing and support scalable, fault-tolerant ETL/ELT workflows.
• We improve observability, alerting, and service-level objectives across our data systems so issues are detected early.
• We develop dbt workflows to onboard Evaluation Partners and produce end-of-day reporting for partner analysis.
• We build and support event-driven architectures and scalable platform components.
• We contribute to workflow orchestration and automation.
• We integrate complex financial APIs and third-party data sources into our internal systems.
• We collaborate with analytics, product, and machine learning engineers to deliver dependable data products.
• We build feature pipelines and model-ready datasets to support machine learning work.
• We raise the bar for code quality, testing, and platform reliability.
• We participate in Agile ceremonies and help maintain a collaborative, growth-oriented team environment.
