Job Summary & Responsibilities An experienced Surgical Technician is required to prepare the operating room and assist the surgical team. You will set up equipment, ensure a sterile environment, adapt quickly, and contribute directly to patient healing. Daily tasks include: Demonstrate advanced skills in operating room technology and proficient knowledge of surgical procedures (as described in core competencies and unit skills checklists). Measurement: Observation, Feedback. Consistently demonstrate proper care and handling of instruments and equipment according to AAMI/ANSI standards. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Equipment condition. Apply principles of aseptic technique per AORN Guidelines, facility policy, and universal precautions. Measurement: Observation, Feedback. Handle blood and tissue specimens accurately and timely. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Accuracy. Facilitate surgical schedule turnover, communicate with appropriate persons for case progress and delays, and anticipate team needs. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Timeliness, Accuracy. Identify and respond to urgent/emergent situations calmly and efficiently, accept assistance and direction during emergencies. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Accuracy. Job Requirements Completion of Surgical Technologist training and certification as Surgical Technologist. Minimum of three (3) years recent hospital experience in the capacity of Surgical Technologist, upon hire. Certification as Surgical Technologist upon hire or Certified Technologist in Surgery upon hire. Basic Life Support – CPR within 30 days.
