Job Summary
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a healthcare facility in Largo, Maryland. This role involves providing specialized care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including those recovering from CABG, valve surgeries, and other cardiovascular procedures. The RN will work a 12-hour night shift, engaging in comprehensive patient management within the CVICU setting.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours each, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Maryland RN license, ACLS certification, BLS certification, 2+ years of CVICU and open-heart experience, familiarity with arterial line management, chest tube management, ventilator management, invasive procedures such as Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump, and experience with complex cardiovascular patient care
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with patient charting systems preferred
• Float: Float rotation may be required within the specialty, sister units, and lower acuity areas
• Additional Information: The role involves immediate post-operative cardiac surgery care, including invasive monitoring, hemodynamic support, and intervention for complications such as cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, and multisystem organ failure. Candidate must be comfortable with managing complex patients requiring advanced cardiovascular and ventilatory support. The position requires adherence to hospital protocols and collaborative interdisciplinary team support.
