Job Description American Traveler is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a PICU‑based night shift travel position at a children’s hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3×12 hrs Hours: 36 hrs per week Start Date: May 18, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 4 Key Responsibilities Pediatric hospital setting with a home unit of NICU, PICU, or Pediatrics — assigned upon arrival based on facility need Patient population spans NICU, PICU, and general Pediatrics; primary focus may include L&D Night shift: 3×12‑hour shifts, 19:00–07:00 Every other weekend requirement — candidates must confirm comfort with this schedule prior to consideration May float between PICU, NICU, and Peds units, as well as to an affiliate hospital Charting via Cerner (required) Requirements Active Indiana RRT license required; Indiana temporary license accepted if both permanent and temporary applications have been submitted Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, and NRP PALS preferred Minimum 18 months–2 years of PICU and/or NICU experience required Children’s hospital experience within the last 3 years required; experience at a Level 1 adult facility may also be considered L&D experience required Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA Cerner EMR experience required AHA and RQI certifications accepted and must be current Additional Information First‑time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates are accepted for Allied positions Travelers may be floated within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays Up to 5 days of RTO can be auto‑approved Former permanent or PRN employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler American Traveler Job ID #P‑698859.
