Pac Air is a rapidly growing aerospace aftermarket platform based in Chatsworth, CA. Air-Cert, an FAA Part 145-certified repair station within the Pac Air family, provides maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services to commercial and defense aviation customers. As we invest and continue to scale, we are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Controller to help us take our company to new heights! Location : Chatsworth, CA, onsite. Responsibilities Plan, direct, and control the company's accounting and month-end close activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP, statutory guidelines, and internal financial policies and procedures. Close the books each month, including journal entries with correct debits and credits, transaction categorization, accruals, inventory costing, and goods-received-not-invoiced (GRNI) reconciliation across both operating companies, all on a fixed calendar. The role also owns the daily banking cadence reviewing and coding activity and completing reconciliations. Prepare timely, comprehensive reporting and analysis of historical and forecasted financial data, including sales, profitability, working capital, a 13-week cash forecast, and other company- and industry-specific metrics. Own accounts payable including the payables position and aging, the approval flow, and the payment run. Also, resolves vendor issues directly. On the receivables side, the Controller owns the AR aging, runs the collections cadence, escalates past-due accounts, and applies cash. Manages the outsourced data-entry team and one internal support teammate. Responsible for the control environment overall: maintaining separation of duties between whoever creates a payment and whoever releases it, keeping desk procedures current and written, and ensuring clean, audit-ready support for lender, auditor, and diligence requests. This includes reviewing and correcting the team's work and providing guidance on unusual accounting scenarios. Manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial data needed for accurate, consolidated business results, thereby providing management with information vital to decision-making. Monitor budget-to-actual performance monthly, providing guidance to management as needed to align major business functions to the company's profitability, productivity, and cost-control goals. Support the Director of Finance & Administration and the CEO in reporting results, financial goals, and accounting initiatives to Tide Rock. Assess current accounting operations, recommend improvements, and implement new processes. Drive initiatives for automation, efficiency, and quality improvement within the accounting function. Manage communication with auditors directly and ensure sufficient audit evidence is provided. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with supervisory experience. CPA or CMA preferred. Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment with physical products is preferred.
