Music Therapist

Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center is residential treatment progran dedicated to providing adolescent boys with comprehensive, individualized care in a safe, supportive environment. Situated on 65 acres in the hills of Oxford, Mississippi, Stonewater offers a home-like setting where young men can connect with nature and focus on recovery without external pressures. Using a variety of evidence-based experiential tehrapies and DBT-Informed platform, we guide adolescents and their families through the ongoing journey of recovery. Role Description The Music Therapist will provide therapeutic music-based interventions to adolescent residents on campus. This contract role involves assessing facilitating group music therapy sessions to support emotional, behavioral, and developmental goals. Responsibilities include collaborating with clinical staff, documenting session outcomes, and adjusting interventions to align with milieu needs. The Music Therapist will use a variety of musical activities to encourage self-expression, coping skills, and social interaction. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Music Therapy and Music to design and deliver effective therapeutic interventions. Candidates should possess skills in Treatment planning and implementation to align music therapy with clinical goals. Candidates should possess knowledge of Mental Health to support adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. Certification or licensure as a Music Therapist (e.g., MT-BC) or eligibility for such credentials is strongly preferred. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy or a closely related field is required. Experience in adolescent behavioral health, residential treatment, or similar settings is beneficial. Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
