Scheduler

Description

Scheduler/Pre-Certification Coordinator is responsible for the efficient and orderly scheduling of patients for hospital services. Duties include, but are not limited to: scheduling all outpatient diagnostic procedures for diagnostic imaging, treatment room, surgical services, and Cardiopulmonary per protocol, answering and directing incoming calls, processing and filing paperwork.

Functions of the Position (not an exhaustive list):

• Verifies patient identification and physician’s orders prior to ordering procedures
• Notify physicians/other providers\
• Communicates pre-procedural/prep information to patients and/or MD office staff
• Works collaboratively with all areas to ensure accuracy and completeness of scheduled procedures
• Schedules appointments in a timely manner
• Obtains and enters accurate information in schedule per protocol
• Sends faxes as needed and required per HIPAA standards

Requirements

Education/Qualifications/Experience:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Previous scheduling experience preferred

Required: Excellent communication skills, computer skills, and multitasking ability

Physical Demands:

· Employee is regularly required to sit

· Reaching – all levels

· Repetitive finger/hand movements

· Manual dexterity
