Fabrication Shop Helper

Role Description The Fabrication Shop Helper is a full-time, on-site role based in Conroe, TX, supporting daily fabrication and production activities. Responsibilities include assisting fabricators with material handling, assist welding, torch cutting, measuring and cutting raw materials, organizing tools and equipment, and preparing work areas for fabrication tasks. Knowledge of torch, gases, and welding supplies. The role involves operating basic shop tools under supervision, cleaning and maintaining the shop environment, and helping with loading and unloading materials or finished products. The Fabrication Shop Helper may also support quality checks, basic inventory tasks, and follow safety procedures to ensure a secure and efficient workplace. This position works closely with the fabrication team and supervisors to meet production schedules and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Welding knowledge, fitting, and fabrication, familiar with torch cutting, metal working tools, reading blueprints.
• Ability to safely handle materials, use basic hand tools, and assist with shop equipment under guidance.
• Can operate overhead and jib cranes, operate forklifts, load and unload material from trucks
• Basic math and measurement skills for cutting, marking, and verifying material dimensions.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting 50 lbs. weight, and moving materials.
• Understanding of or willingness to learn shop safety practices, including PPE use and safe tool operation.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in a fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or construction setting is a plus.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and reliable transportation to the Conroe worksite.

Salary

$20.00-$25.00 per hour

40 hour week, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
