Shipping Specialist

Central Environmental, Inc. (CEI) is an SBA‑certified Small Disadvantaged Business that provides construction and environmental remediation services across the United States and globally. Position Shipping Specialist – Fairbanks, AK Responsibilities Schedule and coordinate load shipments and oversee trucking operations. Transport crushed rock, sand, gravel, broken concrete, debris, broken asphalt, and other materials to and from specified locations, verifying material types and ensuring proper loading. Inspect trucks, tractors, and trailers before and after each trip or as required by management. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Valid Class‑A Commercial Driver’s License. Five or more years experience driving a truck and trailer. Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate – must pass DOT physical. Good driving record. Proven experience operating tractor/trailers, dump trucks, walking‑floor trailers, etc. Working knowledge of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and road safety regulations. Must pass a pre‑employment drug test. Minimum age 18. Ability to work 8‑ to 12‑hour workdays, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Punctual and dependable. Strong commitment to safety and quality work. Effective communication with all levels of management, employees, external vendors, and business associates. Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Employee must maintain constant mental alertness and be able to bend, stoop, sit, walk, or stand for prolonged periods. Work is primarily onsite with exposure to equipment, machinery, computers, and maintenance equipment. Occasional travel may be required. Schedule 40+ hours per week, with flexibility for occasional weekend work. Pre‑Employment Requirements Pass a pre‑employment drug screening. Pass a background check. Maintain appropriate clearance levels if required by contract and be able to access military installations if necessary.
