About the Role
The Company is seeking two new Trustees to join its mission-driven, entrepreneurial, and innovative Board. The ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to the organization's values and mission, which is to end extreme poverty in rural Africa through entrepreneurship and innovation. The Trustees will be expected to bring personal characteristics such as passion for the mission, courage to focus on impact, and relational intelligence to collaborate with a diverse team. The role involves providing leadership, strategic input, and oversight to ensure the organization's growth and the effective adoption of its poverty alleviation model. Trustees should be prepared to actively participate in Board and Committee meetings, maintain a high level of knowledge about the organization and the sector, and make a meaningful financial contribution to the organization. The Company is particularly interested in candidates with experience in audit and risk management, as well as partnership development. The successful candidates will be expected to hold themselves accountable to the organization's values, act as ambassadors for its philosophy, and contribute to the strategic direction and resource development. The role requires a time commitment of 10-16 hours per month, including preparation for and participation in meetings, and a willingness to engage in the organization's work with a long-term perspective. The Trustees will play a crucial role in the organization's efforts to strengthen and grow, and in the establishment of strategic priorities to ensure the necessary resources are available for the implementation of its vision and strategy.
