Our company is looking for a Associate Civil Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in determining wind speed based on the project location and local codes for international locations;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Customer service – Act as primary technical consultant for the customer on projects;
  • Project scheduling – Schedule engineering drawings and document preparation, calculations, and resources necessary for the project;
  • Assist in foundation design using L-Pile and Geotech reports;
  • Drafting – Draft and/or check all drafting work for projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Solidworks;
  • Site Visits – Troubleshoot, analyze, and/or assist service team, for periods of 1-5 days in general. Travel may include up to 10% annually;
  • Assist with other departmental needs as required;
  • Create bills of material for each project;
  • Perform engineering assignments independently while under the guidance of an experienced engineer;
  • Prepare and/or peer review deliverable drawings, calculations and reports;
  • Prepare designs meeting all engineering standards and criteria;
  • Advocate engineering decisions, assumptions, and results for designs;
  • Participate in field walkdowns, design review meetings and/or conference calls;
  • May direct the engineering tasks associated with a large project or several small projects.

Requirements:

  • Must have good organizational and time-management skills;
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check;
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently;
  • Familiarity with building codes and standards, in particular ASCE, AISC, IBC, ICC, ISO, IEC, etc;
  • Communicate effectively and work well with other engineers and team members;
  • Engineer in Training License;
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems;
  • Experience in power distribution or related design experience;
  • Electrical Power Engineering Degree;
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or GIS platforms;
  • Ability to participate in field surveys and walkdowns;
  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory;
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
