Design Drafter Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Design Drafter to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in accomplishing drafting activities in preparing piping drawings, P&IDs and GAs;
- Drafting of utility and process piping drawings, P&IDs and GAs;
- Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards;
- Knowledge and application of piping materials in respect to drafting;
- Working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and Microstation;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards;
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree in mechanical design/drafting or related discipline;
- Strong knowledge of 3D CAD sheet metal modeling and layout; SolidWorks a plus;
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite;
- Experience with Teamcenter;
- Experience with GD&T;
- Experience with 3D CAD, UG NX 11preferred;
- Experience with MIL-Standards;
- Experience with Configuration Control;
- Experience with ERP, SAP preferred;
- Experience with Tolerance stack-ups;
- Ability to work productively and creatively with limited supervision;
- Ability to accept criticism and make changes accordingly;
- Ability to effectively convey information to a wide variety of technical and non-technical individuals or groups;
- Solid understanding of how products are built, their intended functions and the desired end result;
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
