Our company is looking for a Metallurgical Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating new alloys that are without the drawbacks posed by existing materials;
  • Provide Metallurgical support to the melt and heat treat functions;
  • Researching methods of alloy production and formulating cost effective and efficient methods;
  • Perform Metallurgical testing to support problem solving and product development;
  • Assist with product inspection, development of inspection criteria, and training employees on customer requirements for products;
  • Identify cost improvement opportunities through alloy utilization in the Melt area;
  • Documenting and preparing detailed records of all research procedures and details;
  • Testing and evaluating efficiency, characteristics and performance of new alloys;
  • Complete casting material certifications and send to customers when required;
  • Regularly keeping in touch with metallurgical research taking place in different parts of the world;
  • Conducting feasibility studies about new alloys;
  • Studying the properties of various materials and finding means of improving their characteristics;
  • Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement efforts related to casting quality;
  • Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements per the Quality System;
  • Operate the spectrometer and become a back-up for maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Ability to apply and have a strong understanding of materials and mechanical engineering concepts;
  • In-depth understanding of metallurgical properties and composition as well as related heat treatment processes;
  • Ability to set up and optimize sintering programs for MIM components;
  • Detail orientation; with follow-up and documentation;
  • Good communication and writing skills;
  • Methodical and analytical – able to apply systems thinking to various situations;
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Metallurgy, Material Science or related field;
  • Experience with medical device manufacturing;
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, positive attitude, highly self-motivated, organizational skills and team player;
  • Experience using analytical techniques for the evaluation and solution of technical problems;
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously;
  • Collaborative and constructive relationship with all departments and functions;
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to work with all areas and levels within the organization;
  • Tremendous amount of creativity and innovative skills.
