Our company is looking for a Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with other internal engineering disciplines to achieve successful, functional and innovative designs for our clients;
  • Coordinate with other building disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, civil, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent;
  • Assists with the development of job specific discipline specifications;
  • Field survey and observation work required for construction activities;
  • Participates in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating;
  • Responsible for projects of average complexity/size;
  • Participates in constructability review;
  • Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects;
  • Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats;
  • Performs and oversees the performance of calculations using company standard software, and proprietary manufacturer software;
  • Development of Plumbing and Fire Protection Drawings;
  • Design and documentation of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems;
  • Assists in the development of new standards and specifications for the mechanical group;
  • Survey and document existing conditions;
  • Preparation of Contract Documents using Revit and AutoCAD software.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or CPD preferred;
  • Strong working knowledge of building, plumbing and fire codes;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Revit Experience is a must;
  • 5+ years’ experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems;
  • 3-5+ years’ experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
