Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with other internal engineering disciplines to achieve successful, functional and innovative designs for our clients;
- Coordinate with other building disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, civil, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent;
- Assists with the development of job specific discipline specifications;
- Field survey and observation work required for construction activities;
- Participates in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating;
- Responsible for projects of average complexity/size;
- Participates in constructability review;
- Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects;
- Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats;
- Performs and oversees the performance of calculations using company standard software, and proprietary manufacturer software;
- Development of Plumbing and Fire Protection Drawings;
- Design and documentation of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems;
- Assists in the development of new standards and specifications for the mechanical group;
- Survey and document existing conditions;
- Preparation of Contract Documents using Revit and AutoCAD software.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or CPD preferred;
- Strong working knowledge of building, plumbing and fire codes;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Revit Experience is a must;
- 5+ years’ experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems;
- 3-5+ years’ experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
