Our company is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Quality Control Senior Technician and Supervisor as needed;
- Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results;
- Handle Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) utilizing personal protective equipment and good safety practices;
- Calibration and preventative maintenance of equipment;
- Set-up, organize, and coordinate day to day operations of quality control lab;
- Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning administrative projects; expediting work results;
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
- Perform product evaluations to meet customer requirements;
- Conduct sanitation verification procedures;
- Travel may be required during summer months to Georgia and Michigan locations;
- Document data obtained during all quality activities;
- Conducts other tests and investigations and performs equipment calibrations and generates QC certificates;
- Collect and prepare samples to ship to 3rd party test lab as required;
- Support procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety;
- Inspection of lifting devises and measuring equipment, to assure safe and functional measurement, according to company guidelines.
Requirements:
- Pre-Employment Screening;
- College Degree: AS and/or BS Degree in a Technical Discipline Preferred;
- 1 to 5 years Manufacturing Experience Preferred;
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work;
- Must be 21 years or older;
- Familiarity with environmental monitoring, microbiology and molecular biology techniques;
- Ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis;
- Graduation from an accredited high school (or valid General Educational Development certificate) is required;
- A University degree in Food Science or related field, or equivalent;
- Extended periods of walking on wet flooring and loose soil in agricultural fields;
- Prior QA experience in a food processing facility;
- Ability to work efficiently and independently;
- Able to stand the majority of the shift to perform duties;
- Strong computer and organizational skills; working knowledge of MS Office;
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
