Our company is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Quality Control Senior Technician and Supervisor as needed;
  • Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results;
  • Handle Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) utilizing personal protective equipment and good safety practices;
  • Calibration and preventative maintenance of equipment;
  • Set-up, organize, and coordinate day to day operations of quality control lab;
  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning administrative projects; expediting work results;
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
  • Perform product evaluations to meet customer requirements;
  • Conduct sanitation verification procedures;
  • Travel may be required during summer months to Georgia and Michigan locations;
  • Document data obtained during all quality activities;
  • Conducts other tests and investigations and performs equipment calibrations and generates QC certificates;
  • Collect and prepare samples to ship to 3rd party test lab as required;
  • Support procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety;
  • Inspection of lifting devises and measuring equipment, to assure safe and functional measurement, according to company guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Pre-Employment Screening;
  • College Degree: AS and/or BS Degree in a Technical Discipline Preferred;
  • 1 to 5 years Manufacturing Experience Preferred;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work;
  • Must be 21 years or older;
  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring, microbiology and molecular biology techniques;
  • Ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis;
  • Graduation from an accredited high school (or valid General Educational Development certificate) is required;
  • A University degree in Food Science or related field, or equivalent;
  • Extended periods of walking on wet flooring and loose soil in agricultural fields;
  • Prior QA experience in a food processing facility;
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently;
  • Able to stand the majority of the shift to perform duties;
  • Strong computer and organizational skills; working knowledge of MS Office;
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
