Our company is looking for a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer service – Act as primary technical consultant for the customer on projects;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Drafting – Draft and/or check all drafting work for projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Solid works;
  • Assist with other departmental needs as required;
  • Gaining familiarity with and application of industry codes and government regulations;
  • Develop Equipment mounting, foundation design and pipe support calculations and designs;
  • Most projects are multi-disciplined and require extensive interface with other staff engineers as well as engineers working out of our offices;
  • Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards;
  • Estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of civil/structural work;
  • Reviewing and checking vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for civil/structural input;
  • Ability to lead small to large size teams in coordinating civil/structural efforts and keeping the team focused on scope, schedule and budget;
  • Performing fieldwork necessary to gather field data, check tie-ins and provide construction support;
  • Reviewing fabrication drawings and other construction submittals for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications;
  • Providing technical guidance to less experienced drafting and engineering personnel in the department;
  • Advising the senior engineer concerning design or scope changes, which have been identified.

Requirements:

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check;
  • Communicate effectively and work well with other engineers and team members;
  • Proficient in Word and Excel;
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams;
  • Good writing, presentation, and communication skills;
  • Must be able to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship;
  • Minimum 9 years’ experience;
  • Ability to be badged at a nuclear power plant;
  • Ability to pass ENERCON and client specific background checks and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies;
  • Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both;
  • Able to deliver convincing presentations of Hargrove Engineers + Constructors services;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of civil calculations;
  • Expertise with civil/structural analysis software including operating and interpreting results;
  • Virtual team skills and cross divisional relationships are developed, and able to provide interoffice execution leadership and support.
