Our company is looking for a Senior R&D Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • May require some travel (domestic as well as international);
  • Prepare and maintain product documentation, instruction manuals, project notebooks, and design and test documentation;
  • Prepare project level and product documentation based on the requirements;
  • Arrange design reviews, analyze concepts and cost effectiveness of the hardware designs;
  • Actively participate in and lead aspects of design and development activities for insulin delivery products;
  • Prepare and maintain product cost estimates and project plans;
  • Execute technical and/or cross-functional project work;
  • Coordinate engineering activities with purchasing and manufacturing. Assist Purchasing on supplier selection and component evaluation;
  • Demonstrate technical rigor and creativity, continuous learning and improvement, and alignment to customer needs and value creation;
  • Ensure that development documentation protocols and procedures are followed in accordance with established QA process and ISO 9001;
  • Assists with technical research, functional research, customer support research, and testing of code releases as required by the Agile scrum team;
  • Document product robustness using simulations, analysis and testing methods;
  • Write papers, participate in technical meetings, seminars, and conferences;
  • Evaluate test plans and test results;
  • Protect inventions following ABB intellectual property guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Experience developing and validating test methods;
  • Design of Experiments, statistical analysis experience;
  • Solid problem-solving skills;
  • Experience using advanced engineering tools such as Design for Six Sigma or Six Sigma methodologies, Black Belt is a plus;
  • R&D functional planning, requirement generation and technical (DFSS/Design/Cross functional) reviews for all product development phases;
  • Demonstrated understanding of product development considerations for tightly controlled, high-volume manufacturing processes;
  • Sound knowledge of engineering first principles;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC) practices, and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies;
  • SIGNIFICANT WORK ACTIVITIES Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day);
  • DIVISION AVD Vascular;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent);
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project;
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams;
  • Design and execution of user studies in support of product requirement specification development.
