Our company is looking for a Senior Resident Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews construction processes and engineering layouts;
  • Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation;
  • Reviews project activities with client and contractor’s field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues;
  • Oversees materials testing activities;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Plans, reviews and assigns work of subordinate field or construction field office personnel;
  • Meeting with prospective clients to learn about future CM pursuit opportunities;
  • Attends and may lead construction meetings with client and contractors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering-related field (e.g. Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, etc.);
  • Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California;
  • A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents;
  • Valid and current California drivers license;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills;
  • Inspection Certifications (e.g. NICET, ACI, etc.);
  • A working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials (e.g. Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Caltrans);
  • At least 5 years working as a Resident Engineer on Caltrans Highway improvement projects of similar size and complexity;
  • Caltrans and California Self-Help County experience;
  • Experience in Caltrans District 6, 7 and/or 8;
  • A working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials (e.g. Caltrans);
  • Roadway/highway widening construction inspection experience;
  • Roadway widening construction inspection experience;
  • A minimum of 15 years of directly relevant experience, including Resident Engineer or related roles (or equivalent working knowledge/experience);
  • Light Rail and Heavy Rail experience.
