Technician II Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Technician II to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the collection of field data to support ecological, early warning system, and livestock grazing studies;
- Assist with manufacturing to alleviate manpower shortages;
- Perform other related duties as required;
- Measure, cut, strip lead wires or cables, using small hand tools;
- Performs a variety of production pass-fail testing on assemblies;
- Manually solders surface mount and fine pitch components using a variety of fluxes, solders, and solder pastes;
- Participate in field days, experiments, and off-site field data collection;
- Evaluate and analyze results of field data;
- Performs manual through-hole assembly and PCB repair for both through-hole and SMT assemblies;
- Prepare equipment and maintain inventory of supplies for field data collection;
- Provide GIS and/or mapping support for field data collection;
- Enter data into databases and perform quality control on the data;
- Soldering;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor;
- Maintain the manufacturing work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Requirements:
- Existing knowledge of general tools;
- Must be detail oriented with a “think outside the box” mentality;
- Good communication and computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office applications);
- Criminal background checks are required;
- 2-5 years’ experience in a testing technician or assembly environment;
- Ability to communicate engineering information effectively;
- Valid driver’s license, available to travel to various off-site locations;
- Ability to work independently, resolve issues and manage multiple tasks and priorities;
- Prior experience in the testing of medical device products;
- High school graduate or equivalent;
- FDOT CTQP Concrete Batch Plant Operator Qualification;
- Mechanical aptitude (i.e. hands-on ability to test);
- Ability to rework and solder SMT/Thur hole components, build cable harnesses;
- Prior experience working on FDOT projects;
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as assembly procedures, engineering drawing instructions, testing protocol and equipment procedures.
