Our company is looking for a Cake Decorator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- An eye for color, texture and design with an attention to detail;
- Ability to work at a fast pace while staying focused on completing individual tasks;
- Ability to read and write in English;
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- Experience in a retail environment producing a large number of cakes/desserts;
- A positive attitude is essential;
- Basic understanding of the English language, which includes the ability to communicate, read and write basic instructions, schedules and signage;
- Prepares goods following established recipes and procedures and maintains a high quality and consistent product;
- Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation;
- Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices;
- Managing cake operations;
- Completing cake orders in a timely manner and ensuring they are ready for customer pickup;
- Helping to take cake orders from the customer directly and following up with customers when there are questions and concerns;
- Maintaining all cake decorating equipment and supplies;
- Making cakes from start to finish, including building the ice-cream cake,frosting it, and decorating it to the customer specifications.
Requirements:
- Properly and safely operate and maintain cake and soft serve equipment while following all health and safety standards;
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by management staff;
- Inform immediate supervisor promptly of all problems or unusual matters of significance;
- Be pleasant and alert to customer needs;
- Clean work area, organize and stock needed items;
- Willingness to take initiative;
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction);
- Ability to work within set time frames;
- Ability to pass drug test;
- Cake Decorating experience;
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation;
- Ability to follow directions from the Bakery Department Manager;
- Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills;
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed;
- Daytime hours – no nights.
