Our company is looking for a Floral Designer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Able to work some Saturdays and seasonal availability;
- Wraps and prices completed arrangements;
- Performs general cleaning duties in the store to ensure the shop is clean and tidy;
- Decorates or supervises the decoration of buildings, halls, churches, or other facilities for parties, weddings, and other occasions;
- Confers with clients to determine needs, which includes price and type of arrangement as well as the date, time, and place of delivery;
- Performs other duties as assigned;
- Willingness to learn in store POS system;
- Informs customers about the care, maintenance, and handling of various flowers and foliage, indoor plants, and other items;
- Delivers arrangements to customers, when needed or oversees employees responsible for deliveries;
- Trims material and arranges bouquets, wreaths, terrariums, and other items;
- Creates and changes in-store and window displays and designs and looks to enhance shop’s image;
- Unpacks stock as it comes into the shop;
- Conducts classes or demonstrations, trains other workers, and provides educational information to the public;
- Waters plants and cuts, conditions, and cleans flowers and foliage for storage;
- Plans arrangements according to client requirements or selects appropriate standards design pattern.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education preferred, High School Diploma or GED required;
- Highly organized and detail oriented;
- Certification or education in floral design preferred;
- Excellent customer service focus;
- One year of relevant experience preferred;
- Must be able to multi-task and manage time to meet deadlines;
- Good computer and internet skills;
- Strong artistic ability with an understanding of art, style, and use of color.
