Instructional Design Specialist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Instructional Design Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Creates 508 accessible training with high usability in eLearning platforms;
- Creates branching models for multiple outcome training modules;
- Designs and develops storyboards and interaction models for simulations;
- Writes scripts for audio and video presentations;
- Designs and develops training content in an eLearning platform;
- Collaborates with client staff on Instructional Design issues and methodology;
- Interacts with SMEs to create training modules and submit finished projects for review;
- Designs and develops script scenarios for soft skills and other training;
- Develops course outline and objectives;
- Maintain project documentation and course folders;
- Assist in writing in-person training materials, and data collection manuals and documents;
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process;
- State instructional end goals and create content that matches them;
- Collaborate with project and training leads to determine direction on priorities as they relate to current and future trainings;
- Draft instrument testing scripts and related materials.
Requirements:
- Have a Master’s degree in Instructional Design or related field;
- Have 8 years’ experience in eLearning Instructional Design or related field;
- At least 3 years of work experience in instructional design and instructional technology;
- Experience working for a SaaS (Software as a Service) company is required;
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills;
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models;
- Four year or higher degree in instructional design, educational technology or a related field;
- Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System;
- Visual design skills and ability to storyboard;
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
