The Instructional Designer consults with subject matter experts to provide course content and training curriculum. Designs and develops employee learning programs in align with organization goal and training needs. Being an Instructional Designer conducts assessment and analysis to identify new development needs and recommends training methods accordingly. Tracks employee performance and measures training outcomes. In addition, Instructional Designer requires a bachelor’s degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being an Instructional Designer gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Working as an Instructional Designer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Create modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course;
  • Collaborate with various business groups to implement training and communication strategies;
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process;
  • Update and modify course contents to reflect any development and changes in the procedures or technology discussed in the course;
  • Manage program deliverables within budgetary, resource and scheduling requirements against defined project milestones and deadlines;
  • Facilitate requirements gathering meetings with curriculum stakeholders to define the appropriate learning objectives, modalities and expectations;
  • Convert raw course material from end user sources into e-learning platform;
  • Builds consensus and collaborates with team members to accomplish best solutions for leadership development learning;
  • Leverages technology and learning resources to ensure meaningful and effective learning experiences for program participants;
  • Create an evaluation process that is a part of the training programs and monitor for transfer of learning;
  • Assist in documentation development for users;
  • Coordinate with designers and programmers to meet timeline and quality expectations;
  • Develop professional working relationships with clients and colleagues;
  • Collaborate on the development of training plans, design documents, and analysis documentation;
  • Work with outstanding developers, UX, and product teams to ensure our customers’ success by analyzing and meeting their learning needs.

Requirements:

  • Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process;
  • Some travel required;
  • Be able to work efficiently in a time-sensitive environment, both as part of a team and independently;
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions and probe for understanding and work in collaboration with others to achieve desired results;
  • Must be able to provide samples of previous work;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to high quality work, with a strong focus on internal/external customer satisfaction;
  • Strong attention to detail and proven presentation skills;
  • Bachelor’s Degree from 4 year College or University;
  • Creative mind that delights in an innovative and collaborative environment;
  • 5+ years writing learning-focused technical content for cloud services;
  • Application of adult learning theory demonstrated in work;
  • Experience in designing/developing systems/software related training programs;
  • Participating in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain new information to be integrated into training materials.
