Lighting Designer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Lighting Designer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Lighting calculations – daylight and electric light;
- Report writing;
- Presentation materials – renderings and graphic packages;
- Lighting layouts;
- Energy code compliance;
- Provide deliverables that meet required codes and quality assurance standards;
- Fixture schedules and specifications;
- Oversight and lead the lighting team on projects;
- Luminaire schedules and specifications;
- Lead and grow project design team and assist in developing the skills of more junior staff members;
- Lighting control intent and documentation;
- Energy code compliance calculations;
- Develop and review mock-ups;
- Direct projects by applying comprehensive understanding of lighting principles to produce a work plan that includes but is not limited to;
- Collaboration with design team.
Requirements:
- Certified Lighting Designer (CLD);
- IALD, IES membership;
- LEED accreditation;
- Extended experience in lighting design;
- LEED or WELL accredited professional;
- Prior experience in the field of lighting design as a lead designer and project manager.
