PCB Designer Job Description

The PCB Designer I generates documents using computer aided drafting (CAD) for schematic, assembly, and fabrication drawings. Designs and develops printed circuit boards. Being a PCB Designer I helps engineers identify and resolve mechanical design issues. Drafts layouts for standard and dense, hi-speed, multi-layer boards. In addition, PCB Designer I may require a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Working as a PCB Designer I typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.

Our company is looking for a PCB Designer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Create Schematics in OrCad;
  • Creates BOMs;
  • Using Allegro to design multilayer PC boards;
  • Maintain component library;
  • Route mix signal boards.

Requirements:

  • At least five years of PCB design/layout experience who is familiar with the Mentor Expedition tool suite;
  • Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development;
  • Makes layouts of complex printed circuit assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures;
  • Previous background in manufacturing is a plus;
  • Experience with high density complex PC boards (greater than 6 layers);
  • Experience designing analog and digital circuits;
  • AA Degree;
  • High school diploma or GED required;
  • Experience with RF Shielding and impedance control;
  • Experience with Cadence Allegro and OrCad;
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Electronics, Computer Science or Engineering) is preferred;
  • Experience with routing DDR4;
  • Experience with RF applications (up to 12 GHz).
