The Senior Designer prepares creative designs or related drawings or details; uses designs to develop specifications or estimates of materials needed for a project. Applies engineering or architectural principles to the design of buildings/structures and their components or assemblies. Being a Senior Designer monitors the status of design projects and provides guidance to more junior designers or to drafters. May perform drafting duties requiring the use of CAD equipment or systems. In addition, Senior Designer typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager. Working as a Senior Designer typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Our company is looking for a Senior Designer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and resolve client and team issues, perform resource allocations, and lead meetings;
  • Manage multiple projects and work with multiple disciplines at one time;
  • Craft beautiful brand experiences that push Shopkick’s brand identity as a leader in design;
  • Support WSU marketing efforts by providing overall art direction in digital, social, and traditional advertising and brand experiences;
  • Participate in analyzing post-campaign metrics to set best practices and optimize advertising campaigns for brand awareness and conversion;
  • Design and produce visual assets for the Shopkick website, marketing campaigns and more;
  • Building consensus around design direction;
  • 3+ years working in a collaborative and creative team environment;
  • Prepare presentations—the deck, the wall, the room;
  • Work with vendors and outside specialty resources;
  • Inspiring less senior creatives to be expressive and innovative in their ideas;
  • Product Design;
  • Lead junior designers by giving thoughtful creative feedback and troubleshooting problems;
  • Create presentation materials for new business pitches;
  • Participate in or lead brainstorming, collaboration, creative reviews and creative development.

Requirements:

  • Bias towards simplification of information architecture;
  • Team collaborator who delivers highly usable and compelling customer experiences;
  • Great listening skills, with an open minded and team-oriented approach to design;
  • Deep understanding of design fundamentals and creative process;
  • 7+ years of work-related experience in user interface, interaction and user experience design required;
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, know your strengths (and weaknesses), and have a point of view;
  • Experience and strong interest in data visualization;
  • Collaborative partner;
  • 7+ years working as a freelance designer, at a studio or agency, or on an in-house team;
  • At least 7 years of designing for software development (experience in Games, Gaming or Subscription services a plus);
  • An exceptional portfolio that demonstrates originality, conceptual thinking, and thoughtful execution;
  • Experience creating unique identities for a wide range of brands and industries;
  • Rapidly iterate, creating multiple design solutions ;
  • Ability to create interactive prototypes through various design software or code;
  • A background in brand identity and print/advertising design is a huge plus.
