UX Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a UX Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate daily with UX designers and researchers;
- Embrace emerging standards while promoting best practices in order to push the limits of what a browser can do;
- Launch, iterate and make a difference. Provide front-end coding expertise, and be ready to make our products better for our users;
- Research and develop new and innovative ways to deliver content and functionality to end-users;
- Explore product concepts to find promising directions that address both human and business needs;
- Advise front-end engineers on UI implementation best practices;
- Build prototypes to assist in user research, using low- to high-fidelity techniques. and/or build design tools to empower a design team;
- Implement industry-wide best practices in fluid, mobile-first response design;
- Analyze user feedback and actively look to iterate/improve user experience;
- Facilitate design and review sessions with the product team to convey UX principles;
- Provide UI/UX mock-ups and wireframes/storyboards for product managers;
- Providing technical leadership to a team of cross functional engineers and be accountable for the technical decision making for your team;
- Receiving close guidance and mentorship from our engineering managers and leads, as well as code reviews from your peers;
- Experimenting. Owning the A/B testing process, associated metrics for success and helping shape the experiments that will drive the business forward.
Requirements:
- Expert understanding of Accessibility (AX) requirements for web and mobile displays;
- 3+ years in UX Engineering role within a creative agency setting;
- Manage your own time, and work well both independently and as part of a team;
- Experience with designing and developing new interfaces from scratch;
- Ability to come up with creative solutions in both visual and code formats for a variety of problems;
- Serves as lead designer and consultant for applications with high levels of complexity;
- Awareness of the latest design trends and best practices for User Experience;
- Serves as a mentor on the design team;
- Lead collaboration activities for the design team for standardization;
- Excellent communicator of the design concept, interaction behavior, and rationale to end users, product owners, and technology team;
- Proactively identify UX component enhancements and develop design efficiency that benefits the enterprise;
- Use prototypes (low-mid- high-fidelity) to demonstrate interaction and test with users;
- Exposure working embedded within a larger agile development team;
- Experience with modern, component-based JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React);
- A strong portfolio demonstrating past design experiences and deliverables.
