Landscape Laborer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Landscape Laborer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Properly store and handle all equipment, tools, sprinklers, etc;
- Operate string trimmer and edger to remove overgrowth and keep outdoor area tidy;
- Operate push or riding lawnmowers; may operate heavier tractor equipment if needed;
- Spread fertilizer, plant food, mulch, and other materials around plants;
- Remove weeds and dead plants; prune overgrown limbs and leaves;
- Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes;
- Sweep walkway of debris;
- Install lawn furniture;
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping;
- Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed;
- Perform routine maintenance duties such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other duties;
- Trim shrubs and pull weeds;
- Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others;
- Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls;
- Install rock, cement, lighting, water, and furniture.
Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent educational experience;
- Must be able to operate lawn maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, etc;
- Must be 18 years of age;
- Able to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds;
- Must pass background check;
- Able to work independently;
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time in a variety of weather conditions;
- E-Verify, background, and/or drug screening will be required;
- Landscape experience is a plus;
- Ability to stand, squat, sit, walk, kneel, bend over for long periods of time;
- Driver’s license required;
- No alcohol related convictions within 3 years;
- Capable of working in all weather conditions;
- Ability to pass drug test;
- Required to work on snow crews in the event of snow.
