Our company is looking for a Accounting Advisory Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, supervise and manage multiple accounting services for our clients;
  • Research, understand and apply complex accounting concepts, and understand processes and internal controls;
  • Draft and assist in the delivery of proposals for engagements by knowing the range of firm services;
  • Participate in special projects for our clients that provide further growth and learning experiences;
  • Provide information to the tax department and prepare the client federal and state tax returns;
  • Have “in-charge” responsibilities for small to mid-size private company family run businesses;
  • Set budgets, select staff, and assign workloads;
  • Work closely with BEST leadership in Stockton to be groomed in order to assume the responsibilities of current leader upon anticipated retirement;
  • Develop, motivate and mentor staff by providing training, regular feedback and career guidance while fostering a team environment;

  • Develop and maintain client relationships, thus driving clients’ satisfaction;
  • Create and deliver presentations on technical concepts, project work plans, delivery approach, milestones, and results to client stakeholders;
  • Providing risk management, accounting support and internal control services to clients in a variety of industries;
  • Establish credibility as a trusted adviser;
  • Educate internal and external audiences on Accounting Advisory Services best practices.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated management experience with increasing levels of responsibility;
  • Active CPA license;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail;
  • High energy, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Professionalism and discretion in interacting with firm leadership and client executives;
  • Proven track record of managing projects and delivering excellent client service while building relationships with colleagues and clients;
  • Financial Reporting (e.g. SEC reporting, restatements, correction of errors, 10-K, 10-Q);
  • Transactions (e.g. M&A, spin-off, carve-out, IPO readiness);
  • Operational Accounting (e.g. streamlining monthly close process, preparing/facilitating the external audit process, improving FP&A functions);
  • Implementing new accounting standards (e.g. ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 leases);
  • 2 years of financial statement audit experience is strongly preferred;
  • 5+ years of professional services experience (public accounting and/or financial advisory) and/or financial reporting experience with a public company;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related technical discipline;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and interest in making an impact on a growing business unit;
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to think and present at the macro level.
