Assistant Planner Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Assistant Planner to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Create design development and graphic exhibits;
- Assist planners and engineers with organization of materials for delivery to client groups;
- Work on multiple projects, frequently simultaneously, and special assignments as required;
- Other tasks as required;
- Produce maps and conduct analysis with Geographic Information Systems;
- Research, review and apply local codes and ordinances to determine plat requirements and ensure compliance;
- Maintain and apply a working knowledge of local government code and ordinances;
- Data collection (online and in the field);
- Prepare presentation materials;
- Conduct research and prepare reports and technical memoranda;
- Coordinate and attend public and stakeholder meetings;
- Execute subdivision plat preparation & submission.
Requirements:
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products;
- 1 year or less post graduate work experience;
- Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework;
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accredited urban planning, geography, environmental sciences Undergraduate or Graduate program;
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite;
- Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS;
- Familiarity with Census Data retrieval and analysis;
- Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills;
- The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
