Commercial Lender Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Commercial Lender to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Other duties as assigned;
- Originate and service business and individual loans both secured and unsecured;
- Monitor past due reports and contact customers to determine solution;
- Maintain accurate pipeline report;
- Screen loan requests based upon bank policies;
- Attend and participate in community events, volunteer events, and local organizations to represent United Bank and make business contacts;
- Renew matured loans in a timely manner;
- Analyze financial information and loan collateral to determine strength of loan proposal;
- Obtains and analyzes financial data and provides service on approved lines of credit, equipment financing loans, etc;
- Attends to the needs of customers seeking loans that may involve unsecured funds and/or credit secured by mortgages or other collateral;
- Makes decisions on loans and terms if within own lending limits or makes recommendation to department head;
- Monitor high risk loans via established procedures;
- Learn and attain proficiency using Bank’s core system, spreading software, CRE information database, and other technology-based solutions;
- Learn and maintain a strong knowledge of the bank’s credit policies and procedures, and commit to the role of enforcing them as best possible;
- Present loan applications for review at loan committee as needed/directed.
Requirements:

- Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and written skills;
- Five to ten years specialized experience in analysis, underwriting, preparing loan proposals and commercial portfolio management;
- Knowledge of banking laws, banking policies and procedures, and regulations;
- Strong knowledge of basic banking products and lending solutions, along with the ability to match specific solutions with their requested purpose;
- General knowledge of Delaware Valley and surrounding market;
- Basic Computer skills;
- Familiarity with analyzing/underwriting C&I, CRE, and Asset-Based transactions.
